Located in Durango, CO, (Headquarters) and Mount Pleasant, PA (Additive Manufacturing Center) and now expanding into Tulsa, OK. Agile Space Industries, Inc. (AGILE) designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design, manufacture, and test new engine designs in our purpose-built propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines, and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, and Rocketdyne, AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense, Civil and Commercial programs.

Job Summary:

The Accountant III will be responsible for performing and overseeing all operational accounting duties as well as performing general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month end close activities. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages accounting and financial activities related to accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and job cost ledger maintenance.
  • Assists with month end close activities including accruals/deferrals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assists employees with timesheets and expense reports.
  • Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Performs regular check runs.
  • Audits semi-monthly payroll.
  • Assists project managers with budget to actual reporting and estimate at complete questions.
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform interim and annual audit.
  • Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures and helps research technical accounting issues.
  • Reviews and identifies accounting procedures and processes that need to be improved; research appropriate resolutions; and provides recommendations.
  • Backs up accounting staff when they are out of the office.
  • Provides phone, email, and in-person customer service to company personnel, vendors, and customers.
  • Attends meetings and trainings as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Highly proficient with accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • Four to six years of accounting experience required.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Salary: $80,000-$100,000
