York Space Systems is seeking a Controller to join our finance team based in our Greenwood Village office. You will have the unique opportunity to partner across functions to support York’s growth and success. This is a high-profile role, and you will be expected to take ownership of all accounting functions in short order.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the accounting team as they support daily company operations, complete monthly financial reporting, and successfully pass annual financial audits
  • Be a subject matter expert on financial transactions in the new ERP system (Oracle Fusion)
    • Take the lead in implementing best-in-class accounting processes in the new ERP system
  • Lead the overall A/P, A/R, CapEx, Inventory accounting, Treasury, Payroll Accounting, and Project Accounting functions as they are carried out by the accounting team
  • Lead all elements of the monthly financial close process as it is executed by the accounting team to ensure a timely close including:
    • Review of month-end journal entries
    • Review of balance sheet account reconciliations
    • Preparation/Review of variance analyses
    • Preparation/Review of management reporting
  • Actively lead and contribute to all required audits, management & investor reporting, and tax filings so that they are completed by established deadlines
    • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
  • Research accounting topics to provide guidance to team
  • Continuously find ways to improve departmental quality through creating efficiencies, streamlining repetitive processes, and utilizing technology
  • Perform other accounting duties and support finance team members as required or assigned
 

QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or CPA license required
  • Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant, progressive accounting experience required
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • Expertise in sophisticated ERP systems required, expertise in multiple ERP systems a plus, ERP implementation experience a plus, Oracle experience a plus
  • Experience hiring, training, and managing a team required
  • Expertise in the use of Microsoft Excel and other software programs available to maximize efficiency required
  • Knowledge of accounting for a manufacturing environment required
  • Intercompany accounting experience required
  • Ability to prioritize workload, and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment with little to no supervision required
  • Ability to be self-motivated and able to accomplish tasks with minimal guidance required
  • Detail orientation and problem-solving skills required
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate successfully with people at many levels within the company required
  • Customer service attitude when working with people required
 
Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Expected to work on site for at least 8 hours a day, Monday-Friday

  • This role will report to the Corporate Controller and will have frequent interactions directly with the CFO
