As the Finance & Accounting Intern, you will work closely with the finance & accounting team to maintain data integrity in our ERP (NetSuite), participate in monthly/annual close processes, maintain SOPs, and perform financial analysis. This intern role is centered around supporting the day-to-day operations of the business, helping the business make data empowered decisions and being the front-line point of contact for our suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Support the smooth operation of the Accounts Payable function, involving processing supplier invoices in Netsuite, ensuring accurate coding and validity, reconciling discrepancies, responding to supplier inquiries and timely payments processing
- Actively participate in month-end and year-end close processes, assisting with preparation of journal entries, maintenance of proper supporting documentation. and the preparation of financial statements, reports and variance analysis.
- Perform credit card and bank reconciliations, reviewing for policy compliance.
- Maintain finance procedures and related process documents.
- Contribute to a team effort and undertakes other special projects as requested.
Requirements
- Working towards a bachelorβs degree in commerce or business Administration (Accounting or Finance major preferred) or similar program.
- Working towards all necessary prerequisites for admission into the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA), Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Very high attention to detail and strong customer service skills.
- Strong communicator: oral, written, interpersonal
- A growth mindset, self-motivated and excited to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Organized with the ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Superb Microsoft Office skills; specifically Excel & PowerPoint.
- Previous accounting related office experience is an asset.
- Must be able to travel to and work from our Toronto Office following a hybrid schedule of up to 4 days a week in office.

This position is based out of our Toronto Office at 24 Ward Street M6H 4A6 and follows a hybrid schedule of up to 4 days a week in office.
