AST SpaceMobile and our global partners are building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network to be accessible by standard smartphones. Called SpaceMobile, this ultra-powerful network is being designed to provide connectivity at 4G/5G speeds everywhere on the planet – on land, at sea and in flight.

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team as a SAT-RAN Test Technician. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical expertise in hands-on testing satellites and cellular equipment

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and oversee testing procedures for satellite and cellular equipment, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Perform customer and internal end to end satellite and cellular tests
  • Coordinate with vendors to procure necessary equipment and services, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing support and addressing inquiries throughout the testing process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate testing procedures into broader project timelines and deliverables.

 Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on experience in testing satellite and cellular equipment, including familiarity with relevant testing methodologies and tools.
  • Strong vendor management skills, with the ability to effectively oversee vendor relationships.
  • Exceptional customer management skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality service and support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a track record of collaborating across technical and non-technical teams.

 Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in hardware testing
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with customer support
  • Knowledgeable of Satcom systems for connectivity and communications
  • Familiar with testing tools: Spectrum analyzer, Network Analyzer, signal generators
  • Experience with Linux and Windows terminals as well as cellular debugging tools (Putty, SSH, RDP, QxDM, XCAL)
  • Flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced & dynamic environment.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
