Job description
Duties
- Develops, maintains, and leads CCPs (Commercial Crew Program) internal and external communications strategy. Ensures communication strategies and products align with program goals, objectives, and policies.
- Serves as CCPs authoritative source for strategic communications, advises senior NASA leadership on long-term and tactical internal and external communications strategies to influence progress towards program goals.
- Attends CCP Boards (Engineering Review Board, Program Control Board, and Technical Review Boards, etc.) and performs an in-depth analysis of technical topics in light of the strategic landscape to inform communication strategies and products.
- Leads communications strategies through programmatic technical review of blog posts, social media posts, and media events. Collaborates closely with NASA and contractor Public Affairs Officers to ensure timely and effective public communications.
- Builds relationships with internal and external Agency stakeholders and contractors to position CCP to influence the achievement of program goals and objectives.
- Develops communication products for senior NASA executives for key program decisions and meetings, such as Flight Readiness Reviews, to ensure messaging remains consistent with program strategy.
- Develops, maintains, and leads the execution of CCP’s employee morale and public outreach programs. Manages and executes day-to-day communications that engage, connect, and inform the workforce on the status of CCP’s human spaceflight missions.
- Manages cost, schedule, and resource allocations in the implementation of the CCP’s strategic communication products/services, public outreach, and employee morale programs.
- Fosters a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence and innovation. Champion NASA's commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility to create an environment that promotes a commitment to safety, integrity, and teamwork.

Qualifications
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:
- Translating complex technical information into clear, simple products that resonate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders;
- Developing and implementing strategic communication plans/strategies using modern communications philosophies, strategies, approaches, and tactics, including social media;
- Managing cost, schedule, and resources associated with implementing strategic communication goals.

To be eligible, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in a position no more than 1 grade lower than the advertised position.
