Position Purpose: The Planner Lead will take a leadership position within the Planning Group for all planners working at the BCT Lafayette/Crescent facility. This will include planners working on both component product lines and miniSat programs. This role will involve cross-functional work with various teams including manufacturing engineering, supply chain, integration and test, mission assurance, quality and finance. They will take a leadership role within planning for continuous improvement opportunities, making improvements in processes and operations planning and working with cross functional groups to make positive impacts in support of BCT goals and objectives. This role will operate in a fast-paced, demanding, and rewarding environment with high expectations for individual contribution and team performance.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provides support, guidance and mentorship to an organized team to meet company goals of on time delivery, on orbit performance and profitability by adhering to established processes and set KPIs.
- Provides direction to overcome obstacles and sets a standard for continued operations and planning best practices.
- Creates and manages KPI reporting and provides training to new and existing planners.
- Support Manufacturing Status Reviews, develop detailed manufacturing schedules for work center and workstation bring-up, trial, and production readiness.
- Supports process improvement activities and stakeholder input to update internal processes for efficiencies and clarity. Drives new processes as needed based on Continuous Improvement findings and system updates.
- Drives cross training efforts between the planning groups and supports fluidity and standard reporting across all areas of planning.
- Provides leadership and is responsible for ensuring schedule set up at the start of a program with established communication and team meeting schedules. Ensures MRP accuracy by working with planning team and stakeholders to reflect contractual obligations.
- Work with supply chain and inventory teams for material management.
- People Leader/Manager; Is a mentor to other planners and will review others work for accuracy and provide guidance. Will track individual performance and provide direction as needed.
- Develop production forecast and master build plans, then detailed production execution schedule; assess production capacity, efficiency, continuous improvements.
- Identify critical paths and work to resolve resource conflicts.
- Develop, implement, and maintain process documentation for the planning group; Works to influence others to accept team's view/practices. Acts as a liaison between stakeholders and considered a subject matter expert.
- Ensures BCT planning group is audit-ready; includes internal group auditing of hardware, ECO deployments and open production orders.
- Implements strategic goals established by BCT leadership.
- Work with cross functional teams to drive progress and performance and facilitate communication between stakeholders; assist department and/or cross-functional team in process improvement activities.
- Set and manage planning team to operate within set guidelines, work instructions and KPIs.
- Training and Cross training teams and individuals.
- Proficiency in all Sr. Planner duties
- Manager backup/support as needed.
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications/Education:
- 5+ years’ experience in a project/program management environment for manufacturing, engineering, technologies, or similar relevant field
- Experience with a wide variety of manufacturing execution systems and production tools
- Proficiency in common workplace software, and ability to create presentations for high- level and detailed meetings.
- Leadership qualities such as self-awareness, integrity, empathy, initiative, innovative, technical knowledge of ERP systems, continuous process improvement, training skills, organized and energetic.
- Requires strong knowledge of job area typically obtained through on the job experience.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to simultaneously manage multiple high-paced engineering projects.
- Bachelor’s in engineering or relevant field
- Related technical experience will be considered in lieu of education
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
