We are looking for an experienced RF Avionics Manager for Axiom’s Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) program. The role requires strong problem solving, organizational, time management, and communication skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide oversight of program-wide RF/Avionics functions to support Axiom’s EVA System as it evolves through development and into a sustaining flight program

  • Translate high-level project and system requirements into well-defined deliverable products related to RF/Avionics functions such as thermal & structural analysis and Materials & Processes

  • Provide specialty engineering leadership to identify, manage, and support SE products required for program milestones

  • Coordinate and plan tasks with RF/Avionics Team Leads to meet program development plan and schedule

  • Collaborate with the Office of the Chief Engineer to provide RF/Avionics support on a companywide level as necessary

  • Provide mentorship to engineering staff as part of the Power Avionics and Controls team

  • Perform additional job duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required

  • 15+ years of experience in management of engineering staff; familiarity with specialties related to analysis, materials, and processes is preferred

  • Experience with project development, work management, and resource planning

  • Experience with the review or performance of analyses related to structural systems, pressure systems, thermal environments, and materials compatibility

  • Familiarity with NASA Standards, Federal Standards, and various materials standards as applied to analysis, testing, materials, and processes

  • Prior experience with spaceflight development and flight implementation preferred

Essential Functions

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements 

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
