Position Purpose: The Sr. Production Planner is responsible for coordinating production workflow for one or multiple products, planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay. You will organize production according to demand and quality standards and will be the one to ensure our goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner. An excellent production planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Advanced communication and computer skills are very useful for the role. The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations.

Pay Range: $75,000-$150,000

(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists Program Managers managing projects and reporting status
  • Reports Status to Program Managers
  • Coordinate/track and expedite all hardware needed to support testing and customer shipments
  • Runs a weekly Open WO report to manage dates according to schedule needs and KPI goals
  • Prioritize WOs through internal processes as needed to meet scheduled dates and Customer Deliveries
  • Read and execute ERP/MRP to meet schedule requirements
  • Work ECO deployments as assigned to implement engineering changes and rework
  • Create and maintain tracking and stoplight trackers to support team updates and material status
  • Execute & monitor the schedule to meet or exceed stakeholder and customer expectations
  • Accountable for hundreds of in process jobs
  • Verify kits for documentation and part accuracy before releasing to production
  • Internal Work Order movements through internal processes and work centers (WIP) focusing on ESD practices and safe hardware movement
  • Coordinate Non-Conformances and applied dispositions accordingly with limited assistance
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Responsible for work order data integrity and how it applies to the scheduling process (Accurate Resource Data)
  • Coordinate and prioritize across multiple programs and products as work orders flow through the production and test process
  • Facilitate project issues with various functional areas of the company (NCR/ECO rework)
  • Drive relevant project and project status communications
  • Coordinate and review and track Engineering Changes for assigned projects
  • Assist with milestone presentations
  • Assist department and/or cross-functional team in process improvement activities
  • Identify and work to resolve all conflicts encountered on assigned projects (Schedule, NCR, ECO, Material)
  • Provide material and manufacturing status reports
  • Responsible for KPI goal training and adherence
  • Coordinate/lead multiple projects of low-high complexity and Assists Program Managers in projects
  • Create and Deliver milestone presentations
  • Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage (SS/Schedule Priorities)
  • Manage deadlines to meet Operational On-Time-Delivery (OTD)
  • Plan sequential manufacturing and kitting operations using duration reports and historical as built information for accuracy
  • Provide continued information to update project schedules: write and maintain manufacturing routers, configuration requirements, and material traceability
  • Support inventory management strategies based on Kanban needs, requested inventory order point, and ERP system strategy.
  • Assist Program Managers and Engineers to identify long lead procurement and fabrication needs.
  • Provide material and manufacturing status reports
  • Mastery of Systems for stakeholder process alignment and improvement and training activities
  • Maintain strict adherence to business process and government compliance
  • Draws up Master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecast and customer orders
  • Monitor supply and facilitate obtaining quotes as required to procure hardware within listed lead times (Early Program Involvement)
  • Manage logistics to ensure hardware is delivered to shop floor as necessary to meet production schedule
  • Assist Lead as Required
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


Required Qualifications/Education:

  • 7-10+ years’ experience as a production planner in the industry, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or some college preferred, or related field of study and at least 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with manufacturing processes
  • Experience with ASI 9001 processes and certification
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Experience with Inventory Management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong regard for product quality and safety standards
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to simultaneously manage multiple high-paced engineering projects
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education

 

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.  BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
