GHGSat offers greenhouse gas detection, measurement, and monitoring services to industrial and government customers around the world. The company uses its own satellites and aircraft sensors, combined with third-party data, to help industrial emitters better understand, control, and reduce their emissions


As GHGSat continues its journey to build the world's leading geospatial atmospheric data platform, we are seeking a Senior Product Manager for our GHG solution, focused on analytics and climate data. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that our products meet customer needs while aligning with our strategic goals. You will report to the product director and manage the product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond in collaboration with market analysis and product marketing team.

This position is part of a newly formed team dedicated to developing the product discipline that will drive GHGsat into its next successful phase.

Key Responsibilities:


Product Strategy:

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap in alignment with company goals

Requirements Gathering:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather customer use cases and prioritize product requirements.
  • Translate business needs into product specifications.


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineering, design, and product marketing teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
  • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams.


Agile Development:

  • Utilize Agile methodologies to manage the product development process.
  • Create and maintain product backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.


Performance Measurement:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate product success and user satisfaction.
  • Analyze user feedback and product metrics to inform future enhancements.


Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicate product updates, progress, and challenges to stakeholders and executives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for product-related inquiries.


Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or business. Combination of both business and technical background is an asset.

· 6+ years of experience in product management, preferably in a technical environment.

· Strong understanding of software development processes and technologies.

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

· Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a simple way to non-technical stakeholders.

· Experience in system engineering (functional analysis etc) and Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Gitlab, JIRA etc).

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Nice to have:

· Experience in satellite and data industries/technologies is an asset.

· Knowledge of UX/UI design principles.

· Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel pivot tables, PowerBI, Google Analytics, Tableau etc).
