Position Summary:

The Manager Integrations will support the MDA Space Integration Management Office (IMO) under direction of the Director Integrations. They will collaborate closely with senior leadership to optimize the value of important acquisitions and also support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the IMO. This role involves the rapid assimilation and analysis of large amounts of business data for decision making by senior leaders in support of detailed integration planning in pre and post close periods. This includes extensive analyses of cross-functional data that enables identification and delivery of value-creation opportunities and synergies for businesses acquired as part of MDA Space`s strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Strategic decision making Support: Preparation and presentation of business analyses for strategic decision making by senior leadership concerning all integration activities for M&A transactions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across various functions, including corporate development, finance, HR, IT, Operations, Legal as well as all Business Areas (BAs).
  • Due Diligence: Actively participate in the due diligence process for M&A transactions to identify potential integration challenges and opportunities. Support the transition from the signing and closing periods of acquisitions into full and complete integration.
  • Integration Planning & Execution: Work closely with senior leaders to develop integration strategy. Provide operational support to functional workstream team members on integration risks, detailed project management and timelines, resource allocation, dependencies, budget, and risk mitigation.  Assist the director Integrations to monitor integration plans and confirm that they continue to align with the deal thesis and the desired operating model, assumptions and goals of the organization. Support successful integration execution by preparing, tracking and reporting on the integration budgets, capturing desired synergies and outcomes.
  • Integration Capabilities: Ability to improve the knowledge, experience and capabilities of our functional teams to lead successful integration across MDA Space.  Create, maintain and improve a repeatable integration playbook that can be utilized for future transactions.  Contribute to the development and improvement of relevant policies and procedures of OneMDA.
  • Operational Integration: Support the integration of operations, systems, processes, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to ongoing business. In particular support the activities to efficiently integrate the people of the acquired business into MDA`s organization, it`s teams and Operating model.
  • Change Leadership & Cultural Integration: Foster a positive and inclusive culture by effectively managing change, breaking down barriers, and promoting collaboration between teams. Promote a positive tone of the integration, measure employee sentiment regularly and take steps to shift opinion, as needed.  Provide support, advice and coaching to the human side of change and integration.  Support effective cultural integration considering national culture, business culture, among others.
  • Governance & Communications: Interact and communicate effectively with senior leaders, including ELT, SLT, IMO and across the business, as needed. Track, report and communicate to key stakeholders. Partner with Communications team on key formal communications and any brand related impacts. 
  • Risk Management: Participate in risk management planning to Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with integration, including operational, financial, and reputational risks.
  • Post-Integration Evaluation & Sustainability: Support post-integration reviews to assess the success of the integration and recommend lessons learned for future transactions and integration playbook improvements.
  • Divestitures: Participate in the divestiture process, including planning and transaction execution.

Qualification Profile:

Education, Experience & Knowledge:

  • Advanced degree in business, finance, engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience and exposure to mergers and acquisition (5+ years), in a consulting, corporate, business area, or private equity environment.
  • Proven track record in supporting complex integration projects, a deep understanding of M&A processes, and a passion for operational excellence.
  • Previous experience in a deal setting, cost optimization, operational restructuring, turnarounds, or operational improvement initiatives is considered an asset.
  • Experience in global companies, operating across borders and with distributed teams.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Ownership mindset with deep business acumen (financial, legal, IT and other operational areas) and exceptional critical thinking skills.
  • Understanding of deal theses and how the companies operate.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Ability to quickly prioritize, anticipate roadblocks/bottlenecks and drive action & resolution. Comfortable working with incomplete information and ability to make intelligent, fact-based assumptions where necessary.  Able to adjust and pivot.  Able to recognize and mitigate risks early.  Good attention to detail with effective organizational skills.
  • Understanding of program or project management (no formal project certification is required, although PMP or other certification is considered an asset), in addition to change management.
  • Outstanding communication skills (oral & written), with the ability to interact confidently with all levels of management, across cultures and with diverse audiences.
  • Strong emotional intelligence. Understands human psychology and how teams, groups and organizations work.  Ability to collaborate and quickly develop effective working relationships across entire stakeholder group (inside/outside, up/down/sideways). Resourceful. 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams. Can inspire teams that may have never collaborated before to work toward a shared goal. Able to help work streams and teams balance competing priorities and manage any differences that may arise.
  • Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions.
  • A self-starter who thrives working in an adaptable, rapidly evolving environment that requires an excellent work ethic and teamwork. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.  Demonstrates maturity and is calm and composed.
  • Multiple languages are an asset.

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.

The compensation range for this position is $110,000 - $135,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
