Job description

ispace is looking for a Mission Analysis & Flight Dynamics Engineer to join our growing team. The tasks include Mission Analysis, Flight Dynamics, Trajectory design, Moon transference, Moon orbit, Relay satellites, Lagrange point, Weak Stability Boundary, Low thrust and Interplanetary.

Key Responsibility

  • Contribute to the Mission Analysis & Trajectory Design tasks needed through the different mission phases (Feasibility, PDR, CDR) of ispace lunar missions.
  • Optimize location of correction maneuvers based on Monte Carlo simulations of the different error sources.
  • Participate in the development of in-house tools and processes to support Mission Analysis & Navigation tasks.
  • Support development of Flight Dynamics Software, processes, procedures and training plans to navigate ispace's lunar missions.
  • Analyse launch window opportunities compatible with project requirements & CONOPS.
  • Support routine & contingency operations for ispace's lunar missions on a 24x7 environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience on Mission Analysis in commercial or government missions.
  • Experience with Orbital Mechanics libraries and tools: GMAT, STK, MONTE, Orekit, Godot or similar.
  • Familiarity with at least one of the following concepts:
+ Circular Restricted 3-Body Problem (CR3BP)
+ Week-Stability Boundary (WBS/LET)
+ Lambert Transfer
+ B-plane targeting

  • Professional experience in at least one of the following languages: python, MATLAB, C++, Fortran.
  • Experience with Low Thrust modeling, both for trajectory acquisition and station keeping.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Flight Dynamics development and/or operations. Experience interfacing launch providers (e.g. Space-X, ULA, Ariane, MHI).
  • Operational experience designing and navigating Deep
  • Space missions or missions to the cislunar environment (ELFO, NRLO, Halo).
  • Experience with Python, Git, Docker, CI/CD.
