About the Role

The Senior Compensation Consultant is responsible for partnering directly with the Chief People Office to drive a culture of pay for performance through the development, implementation, and administration of highly innovative and competitive compensation programs and processes that support the company's strategic objectives. This role involves conducting market research, analyzing compensation data, designing incentive/equity programs, monitoring program success and ensuring that the company's compensation practices are competitive and compliant. This role also plays a key part in Executive Compensation strategy, compensation-related governance activities, Board-level Compensation Committee prep, strategic M&A and upcoming IPO readiness activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Compensation Strategy and Analysis:

  • Design, develop and implement compensation strategies and incentive programs that align with the company's compensation philosophy, business goals and key objectives.

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to ensure the company's executive and broad-based compensation programs are competitive.

  • Analyze compensation data and trends, draw conclusions, and provide insights and future recommendations to executive leadership.

  • Lead compensation-related projects such as competitive deep dives, performance rating analysis and compensation policy development.

Job Evaluation and Salary Administration:

  • Evaluate job descriptions and classify positions according to the company's job architecture.

  • Administer base pay, incentives, equity, and other compensation programs.

  • Ensure internal equity and external competitiveness of compensation programs.

Consultation and Communication:

  • Provide expert advice and consultation to HR partners and business leaders on compensation matters.

  • Communicate compensation policies and programs to team members and managers.

  • Create comprehensive reports, executive summaries, and other content that distills complex information into actionable insights for senior leadership.

  • Develop and deliver training sessions on compensation-related topics.

Project Management:

  • Lead and participate in compensation-related projects and initiatives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement compensation programs and processes.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of compensation programs and make recommendations for improvements.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.

  • Prepare and submit required compensation reports and filings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in compensation analysis or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze large, complex data sets.

  • In-depth knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and regulations.

  • Deep experience with incentive and equity plan design.

  • Proven experience in creating and delivering presentations to executives.

  • Strong background in developing content tailored for executive audiences.

  • Experience taking a company through an IPO is highly preferred.

  • Proficiency in HRIS and compensation software, as well as advanced Excel skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position. 
 
We also offer a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 8%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

$120,552.10 - $165,759.14
