Position Overview (Summary/Objective):

Reporting to the R&D Project Manager, candidates will play a pivotal role in the architecture, design and verification of software within Lumacron’s flagship network monitoring products.  The role is full-stack and multi-disciplinary and includes development of low-level embedded drivers, application programming interface (API) software and graphical user interface (GUI) software, collaborating with peer design teams in hardware and firmware.  Candidates will provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to less experienced colleagues 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Qualified to degree level in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent discipline or experience
  • 10+ years of experience in development of Linux-based embedded software systems
  • Expert in a least one object-oriented language (e.g. C++, Java) and OO design principles
  • Experience of architecting complex software ensuring scalability and maintainability.
  • Experience of entire software design lifecycle
  • Experience of front end and back end web technologies: Javascript, Typescript, Node JS etc.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD
  • Ability to work to tight timescales, individually and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience architecting software / embedded software for FPGA-based hardware systems
  • Specific experience of Telecommunication/Data Communication hardware products
  • Knowledge of Telecoms Framing and Packet structures (OTN, SONET/SDH, PDH, Ethernet)
  • Knowledge/experience of VHDL or Verilog
  • Familiarity with REST APIs / OPEN API
