Position Overview (Summary/Objective):
As a Systems Administrator you will be expected to provide exceptional technical assistance and support to our organization's end-users, ensuring seamless access to technology resources and platforms. This role offers the opportunity to be actively involved in delivering responsive and effective user support, maintaining IT assets, documenting support interactions and solutions, all whilst proactively monitoring infrastructure and system performance and being part of our IT growth plans and accreditations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide quick and efficient IT support through chat, phone, email, in person and trouble ticketing system
- Support various technologies including Windows Desktop/Server/Active Directory architecture, Microsoft365 Collaboration suite (Outlook/Exchange email, Teams collaboration, etc.) and DUO Multifactor authentication
- Support, troubleshooting and optimization of company internet connectivity and network infrastructure.
- Facilitate equipment returns from terminated users or due to device replacements while assisting in maintaining inventory of IT equipment.
- Installation, setup and maintenance of printers
- Perform triage and analysis against all requests submitted by end users and respond to service requests in an appropriate and timely manner
- Installation, configuration, upgrading and testing of desktops, laptops, and servers.
- Installation, configuration and deployment of software applications on the network and individual systems
- Documentation, recording and logging of work in the ticket system for management and appropriate ticket allocation
- Setup and maintain applications and access on employee workstations
- Support and maintain active directory
- Assign file and folder permissions as needed
- Set up and manage mobile devices
- Monitor the performance of the company's desktop infrastructure and make suggestions for improving efficiency
- Apply, install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrading PC and iOS hardware, peripheral equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance.
- Evaluate applications and software patches for desktop applications ensure optimized performance of desktop issues
- May occasionally necessitate off-hours support to coordinate problem resolution and maintain continuous operation
- Ability to comply with the UK GOV National Security Vetting Procedures (see link below) https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/united-kingdom-security-vetting
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ work experience
- Knowledge of computer systems and network applications with various operating systems and solutions
- Comfort with Windows or Linux troubleshooting and maintenance for both end user workstations and server architecture.
- Experience supporting Microsoft O365 environments and managing active directory and exchange
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to deliver technical expertise and professionalism in this customer-oriented role
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Proven knowledge of basic troubleshooting
- Microsoft Windows Server experience
- Networking experience highly desired
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Printers and other peripherals experience required
- Technical certifications a plus (Network+, Sec+, MCSA)
