Facilities Attendant (6 month fixed term contract) Working as part of an on-site team based in Forres, your role is key within the Facilities Department in ensuring the work and accommodation environments are clean, safe, and compliant for all users. It is essential that you have experience driving a forklift as well as a valid UK Driving Licence.

Having developed in-house production capability, we can 3D print complex engines, produce full-scale carbon composite fuel tanks, and have avionics and software testing labs in both Scotland and Denmark.    

The Position   

Responsibilities of the role    

  • Supporting in maintaining all Orbex facilities and grounds working to best practices to meet Health and Safety, Security, Industry codes and business standards.  
  • Working collaboratively with facilities team members and wider team to meet operational needs.    
  • Conducting dynamic risk assessment, facilities checks as and when required.   
  • Deputising for other Facilities Assistants and covering tasks as and when required.   

In this role you will not take part in work that requires specialist knowledge, skills, experience and or qualifications is to be undertaken, for example (E.G. Electrical, pressure systems, welding etc).  

   
Housekeeping Responsibilities   

  • Carrying out routine upkeep, and maintenance of indoor, outdoor, and welfare spaces to ensure they are safe, clean and functional for use.   
       

Daily:   

  • Cleaning to agreed standards.   

  • Replenishment of consumables including in restrooms, kitchens, and office areas (e.g. hand towels, hand soap, toilet roll, hot drink consumables, paper in printers, stationary).   

    Weekly:   

  • Distribution of fruit.   

  • Coffee machine maintenance and cleaning.   

  • Emptying shredders.   

  • Cleaning outdoor smoking areas.   

   As Required:   

  • Set up and clear down for meetings and visits.   

  • Deep cleaning on rotation and per needed.   

  • Monitoring consumables for use and cost efficiency.   

Maintenance, Repairs & Checks   

  • Carrying out repairs and upgrades across facilities within agreed competencies as assigned by UKFM.   

   Maintenance of Vehicle Fleet   

  • Maintain vehicle fleet to ensure maximum availability and compliance.   

Ongoing:   

  • Ensuring fleet is always clean and compliant.   

  • Maintenance of vehicle records with regards to fuel, mileage, servicing, and repairs.   

   Forklift Driving   

  • An in-date forklift operator’s certificate would be an advantage.    

  Person Specification   

  • Excellent communication skills   

  • Highly organised   

  • Ability to problem solve   

  • Able to carry out a physical workload in different facility environments   

  • Diligent with good attention to detail   

  • Excellent customer service skills (colleague facing)   

  • Full UK driving licence   

 Security   

You must be a UK or European citizen or from a country that is a signatory to the MTCR convention. You may be required to undergo a UK BPSS check which includes a criminal record check.
