Job Responsibilities:

• EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for an MTS 3 - Software in our Hughes Network Systems division.
• Perform a lead role in specific portions of software development operations to design, deliver and maintain web based software application solutions necessary for the company’s operations in the satellite and broadband data and telecommunication network domain.
• Plan and execute the requirements analysis to establish project features and development approaches,  translate requirements into detailed development specifications and solutions to meet a range of broadband data & telecom business operations applying experience with object oriented and web-based development methods and industry standard development tools and frameworks, including Python, Golang, Django, Gin, HTML, CSS, and JQuery.
• Provide software design analysis to support architectural decisions for new projects or application system enhancements; to include developing proofs-of-concept for new technologies, design ideas with the goal of designing scalable and robust solutions that align with the company's long-term technical strategy.
• Evaluate new technologies and third-party solutions  and make recommendations for their adoption based on their potential to improve development efficiency, performance, or user experience.
• Act as a primary liaison to other functional teams (e.g. operations, security, compliance) to ensure that developed applications meet organizational standards; to include conducting joint reviews and addressing any integration or compatibility issues.
• Take ownership of critical components or subsystems within the software architecture, and ensure their stability, performance, and security, establish and implement monitoring and maintenance processes to proactively identify and address technical issues or architectural weaknesses to maintain a high level of system integrity.
• Collaborate with Senior Engineers to establish requirements and procedures for the performance tuning and optimization of critical components within the software stack; analyze performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, and design solutions to improve system throughput, response times, and resource utilization.
• Lead code review activities within the development team, to include conducting peer review, providing feedback on code quality and design, and promoting adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentorship to junior developers regarding the organization’s development practices and SOPs.

Basic Requirements: 

• Master’s degree in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering field and 6 months experience in the job offered or in a related software developer or computer programmer position.
• As an alternative, a Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a related software developer or computer programmer position will be acceptable.

Special Requirements: 

• 6 months experience developing Python based web applications solutions. 
• 6 months experience implementing database solutions within applications employing MySQL. 
• 6 months experience developing web interfaces employing HTML5 and CSS.

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $173,763.00 - $173,763.00
