We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer based out of Annapolis Junction, MD.
What you’ll get to do:
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineer well-versed in Windows, RHEL, and VMware technologies while supporting user account management tasks. In this role you will plan, validate, and provide technical support that translates customer requirements into hardware and software solutions. Our team develops software for Identity, Credentials, Access Management (ICAM) solutions. This position is full time, on site, at our Annapolis Junction, MD office.
Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal or external customers, in written and oral formats.
• Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems
• Analyze internal or external customer requirements and determine equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems by means of automation.
• Provide backup and recovery services; manage file systems and disk space; manage virus protection on a routine basis.
• Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
• Maintain security audit and logging information on all classified networked and standalone computers as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
• Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.
• Work under minimal direction and independently determine and develop an approach to solution.
Basic Qualifications:
- A current and active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, updated within 10 years.
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 7 years of experience, a Master’s Degree in STEM with 3 years of experience. Relevant military experience is acceptable as well.
- CompTIA Sec+ certified
- Must demonstrate a wealth of knowledge regarding the following:
- Windows, Linux, VMWare Systems Administration tasking
- User Account Management
- Network and Traffic analysis of Routers, Firewalls, and Switches
- Script development, Vi, Emacs, or equivalent
- Must be able to independently manage AWS resources including AWS EC2 Linux and AWS RDBS PostgreSQL while supporting evolving customer requirements, security scoring, and overall reliability for those systems.
- Must provide support to OS/Fabric updates from the NG Cybersecurity Team’s vulnerability reports as well as classified network security, IAVA mitigation and ISSO vulnerability reports.
- Must be an effective communicator written and verbally internal to the team as well as externally to customers and other support assets.
Preferred Qualifications:
- GIAC Certification such as GMON, GDSA, GCLD, GCSA
- Background working in agile projects and utilizing DevOps best practices
- Identity Management (Single Sign-On) experience
