Vast is looking for a Technology Coordinator, reporting to the CIO, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space station.

This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach  location. 

Responsibilities: 

  • License Management: 
    • Oversee the entire lifecycle of software licenses, including acquisition, renewals, and decommissioning 
    •  Monitor usage against existing licenses to forecast demand and ensure compliance 
    • Develop and maintain a centralized license management system to track and optimize usage 
  •  Purchasing and Procurement: 
    • Facilitate the purchasing process for technology-related assets, including software, hardware, and services 
    • Coordinate with vendors for price negotiations, procurement of quotes, and approval of purchase orders (POs) 
    • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations 
  • Vendor and Contract Management: 
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors and service providers 
    • Manage and negotiate Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), service level agreements (SLAs), and other contracts related to technology acquisitions 
    •  Work closely with requestors of technology features to ensure alignment with business objectives and garner necessary support  
  • Process Improvement: 
    • Identify and implement process improvements across IT, InfoSec, and Information Systems, with a focus on optimizing the purchasing and procurement processes 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency 
    •  Conduct regular audits of technology processes and suggest areas for improvement 
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: 
    • Assist in the development of the IT budget by forecasting future license needs and aligning them with business goals 
    • Monitor and report on technology spending against the allocated budget 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years’ experience in a similar role 
  • Strong understanding of software license management and compliance 
  • Broad understanding of IT systems life-cycle management
  • Experience with vendor management, including negotiations and contract management. 
  • Proficiency in using procurement and license management tools. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast needs and manage budgets. 
  • Experience working in design or manufacturing technology support role Experience interacting with Finance and Accounts payable teams 

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with facilities within an aerospace industry
  • Familiar with space planning procedures and operations
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to easily navigate through different computer software programs
  • Ability to create and update request for proposals (RFPs), purchase orders (POs) and facilities work orders in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
  • Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customers
  • Logical and strategic approach to solving problems
  • Ability to read and understand basic floor plans
  • Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, passionate about technology and finding ways to increase efficiency and have an untiring focus on excellent results 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  •  Working knowledge of design principles 
  •  Experience in process improvement methodologies is a plus 
  •  Familiarity with Atlassian tool set (Confluence, JIRA) and their licensing model 
Salary Range: California
$94,000$135,000 USD
