As a Government Relations & Events Intern, you should have some interest and understanding of federal, state, and local government as well as communications and event planning. You will assist Lockheed Martin Space Government Relations in conducting events and activities such as tours of Lockheed Martin facilities, STEM and Community Outreach, and activities with or through business organizations such as chambers of commerce. Will also assist in developing materials and preparing articles and presentations for both internal and external use as well as developing and tracking metrics of government relations activities and accomplishments. Performs other duties as assigned.
You will work an average of approximately 5-10 hours per week, year-round, on a flexible schedule to be determined around your class schedule. Some of the work will be virtual but there will be some requirement to be on site occasionally. Willing to consider freshmen and all levels in college.
Basic Qualifications:
Actively enrolled in an accredited degree program including but not limited to: Any STEM Field, Business, Communications, Finance, History, Government, Hospitality/Event Planning, Public Policy, or any related business or social science humanities program. This position requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
Strong Communication and interpersonal skills; experience preparing and presenting written & oral reports; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and PowerPoint

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
