What is the role? 

Our innovative and growing company is looking for a Supply Chain Specialist in the Direct Sourcing department at the ICEYE office in Espoo, Finland. As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials, components, and products throughout our supply chain. You will collaborate closely with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and quality assurance teams to optimize processes, reduce costs, and maintain high standards of quality. Your expertise in supply chain management will contribute directly to the success of our satellite missions and overall business objectives.

Daily tasks may include:

  • Processing purchasing requests into purchase orders, maintaining communication with suppliers and internal customers, from order placement to receipt, to ensure schedules are met
  • Monitoring inventory and preparing orders to refill stock
  • Forecasting future inventory requirements
  • Analyzing supply chain data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement, implementing solutions to optimize performance
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies across all supply chain activities
  • Help with inbound/outbound logistics functions
  • Support Logistics team with general duties of planning, scheduling, and purchasing inventory
  • Support and act as backup for other team members in their tasks
  • Participate in supplier and internal team meetings
  • Controlling flows of equipment and supplies
  • Reporting to management and advising on process improvements
  • Managing data in ERP system
  • Supporting the ERP improvements

Business Travel Requirement:

  • The role may require occasional domestic and international business travel, approximately 1 month per year, to engage with suppliers, attend industry events, or support project implementations. The specific timing and duration of travel will depend on business needs and may vary year to year.

Requirements

What will you need to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • 1-3 years experience in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, or a similar role, preferably within a high-tech or aerospace environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (especially Oracle Netsuite)
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office tool suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be self-motivated and professional
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse people and cross-functional teams
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken), proficiency in Finnish, Spanish and/or Polish is considered a plus

  • Base salary range for this position is 3500-4300 EUR per month (gross) contingent on your experience level, and will be negotiated individually. The offered title might be a Junior Supply Chain Specialist, depending on the results of the recruitment process.
