Intern - Mechanical Engineering (Summer 2025)

Position Overview (Summary/Objective):

Our Student Program provides amazing opportunities to develop functional job skills and gain real-world experience and expertise. We offer spring, fall and year-round internships and co-ops in fields across the company, including engineering, finance, and business development.

Currently we are seeking a SUMMER INTERN in MECHANICAL ENGINEERING for 2025

Responsibilities:

• Support mechanical engineering activities directed by senior engineers
• Interact with various engineering disciplines (manufacturing, structural, thermal) to help optimize mechanical designs to meet requirements
• Help prototype mechanical design concepts via 3D additive manufacturing tasks
• Perform documentation and organizational tasks to improve overall Mechanical Engineering Department efficiency
• Communicate progress via status reports, peer reviews, and presentations

Basic Qualifications:

• Completed freshmen year in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Familiar with computer programing codes such as Python, Mathcad, MATLAB, etc.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight or within a team setting
• Good verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
• Able to prioritize individual work and meet schedule commitments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Participation in ASME, AIAA, ASCE or related activities
• Familiar with typical engineering materials and their performance characteristics
• Exposure to Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as CREO, AutoCAD, Onshape, etc.

The position is located onsite at our facility in Danbury, CT. EHS/Environmental Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions, occasionally operate tools and/or machinery with hands and arms and remain stationary for extended periods of the time. The employee will use protective equipment when working with chemicals, move between workstations, reach, and replace equipment, and move items weighing up to 25 lbs.
