Position Purpose: The Manufacturing Engineer II will develop and implement manufacturing processes for the building, testing, and delivery of spacecrafts and spacecraft components.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Range: $80,000 - $140,000

(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own production execution for a single Spacecraft or Component Product Line, responsible for meeting on time delivery. 
  • Provide hands-on support for manufacturing & test technicians.  
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for non-conforming product. Troubleshoot and investigate failures to determine root cause and corrective actions.  
  • Create mechanical and electrical assembly instructions, focusing on standardizing across projects and products while streamlining workflow of hardware through needed work centers. 
  • Design fixturing and tooling to aide manufacturing.  
  • Understand in-house business systems including Configuration Data Management tools, Manufacturing Execution System, MRP, manufacturing shop floor control, and internal status reporting. 


Required Qualifications/Education:

  • BS or AAS degree in an Engineering field or equivalent discipline. 
  • 2+ years of experience in at least one core product area:  Electronics, Mechanical/Machining, Optics, RF, or Spacecraft Integration. 
  • Proficiency with interpreting technical engineering drawings, bills of material, and technical documents including test and integration procedures. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written communication skills, oral presentation skills and an ability to lead group discussions with both internal and external customers. 
  • Related technical experience will be considered in lieu of education.


Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
