Responsibilities:
In this position, you will report to the Special Programs Office Manager, who is responsible for the Industrial Security function at JPL to include clearance processing, classified access management, and program security support. The Industrial Security Representative (ISR) II will coordinate all aspects of the Personnel Security (PERSEC) industrial security function to ensure compliance with government and Laboratory classified security regulations and policies.
Tasks include:
Assist with day-to-day security-related activities supporting PERSEC management.
Prepare personnel clearance packages for processing, including reviewing packages for accuracy and completeness.
Investigate security infractions and violations and prepare reports.
Supervise and conduct security indoctrination briefings/debriefings.
Grant access to restricted areas, records and materials.
Participate in the development of policies and procedures for the PERSEC function.
Perform classification/sanitization review of incoming and outgoing information.
Participate in processing incoming and outgoing classified visit requests.
Assist personnel in following through on their reporting requirements, including foreign travel.
Open and close secure facilities.
Ensure that badges are functioning accurately and have the appropriate assignments.
Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned/required.
The position requires 100% on-Lab presence, eight hours per day and five days a week (Monday – Friday) and some overtime may be required as needed.
Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years or a Master’s degree with 1 years of combined related experience in one or more of the following security disciplines: Program Protection, OPSEC, Communications Security (COMSEC), Information Systems Security (INFOSEC), physical/facility/technical security, and Personnel Security (PERSEC).
3+ years of experience in a security related field (e.g. Criminal Justice, Security Management, Information Assurance, etc.) preferred but not required.
Need to demonstrate a positive and professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills and partnership.
Frequent interaction with customers and peers inside and outside organization on significant matters requires excellent written and verbal skills and attention to detail.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret (TS) clearance based upon Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) within 5-year scope and approved or previously approved for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) accesses.

The hiring range displayed below is specifically for those who will work in or reside in the location listed. In extending an offer, Jet Propulsion Laboratory considers factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s job related skills, experience, knowledge, and relevant education/training. Hiring range for this job may be adjusted based on primary work location outside of Pasadena, California. This adjusted range will be provided to candidates by the Recruiter when applicable.
