About the role

Muon seeks a Head of Supply Chain to join our world-class team.  The ideal candidate possesses the skill and vision necessary to lead the development and implementation of a scalable supply chain strategy / manufacturing materials operations for the company. The candidate has demonstrated the ability to pursue innovative solutions based on an accurate assessment of business requirements. They must also ensure that, as the company grows, manufacturing and supply chain management capabilities meet or exceed all industry, regulatory, and customer requirements for cost, quality, and responsiveness. A successful track record of playing a leadership role in the selection, implementation and administration of ERP, PLM, MES, or similar systems is a must. The candidate must also have demonstrated the ability to implement and run continuous improvement programs on systems deployed to keep them current and relevant.

The position will be located on-site at our headquarters in Mountain View, CA

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end to end supply chain function for the company
  • Design, implement, and administer MRP and related supply chain practices and systems matched to the company’s stage and production volumes  
  • Work closely with technical colleagues to run make/buy trades for key components 
  • Engage with external suppliers to manage performance, perform audits and assess suitability for technology partnerships 
  • Continuously assess system performance and company needs to evolve the approach over time
  • Hire and manage supporting staff for implementation and day-to-day execution of Muon’s Supply Chain function 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in a manufacturing operations role (ideally, a progression of management positions in each of the mfg ops functional area’s - Production, Mfg. Eng., Supply Chain, Quality)
  • Track record of delivering products from engineering to manufacturing. Clear vision and understanding of design control tools (PLM, PDM)
  • Experience choosing, implementing, and maintaining PLM, ERP, MES systems
  • Experience with managing contract manufacturers (selection, contract negotiation/ management, quality management, new product handoff)
  • Materials management mindset (inventory control and management)
  • Experience with quality systems and a thorough understanding of process control methodology
  • Demonstrated track record of developing talent (hiring from within)
  • Demonstrated track record of hiring people who stick around (mentoring, team building).
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced environment with new challenges each week

Salary: 

The salary range for this role is 175K-210K and will depend on a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience as defined during the interview process.
