Vast is looking for a Global Trade and Supply Chain Compliance Specialist, reporting to the Senior Vice President, Supply Chain and Quality, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintains ITAR/EAR export classifications and HTSUS import/customs classifications for parts, materials, and equipment. 
  • Manages the completion of End-Use Certifications, Export Classification Certifications, and Export Control Notices, or similar documentation with vendors. 
  • Ensures the scope of work on POs with any Foreign vendors is permitted pursuant to a valid ITAR/EAR authorization.
  • Supports compliance for all ITAR/EAR authorizations with suppliers.
  • Educates Supply Chain stakeholder teams on how to properly control their export-controlled items.
  • Supports compliance for on-site visits involving foreign vendors (e.g., machine installations/maintenance).
  • Leads domestic preference (Buy America(n), etc.) compliance and strategic sourcing.
  • Ensures Supply Chain compliance with Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA), Responsible Sourcing, Various U.S. and other country environmental supply chain restrictions, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business or Engineering discipline
  • 6+ years of experience working with import and export regulations
  • 6+ years of experience working and developing policies and procedures in a regulated environment (FAR, DFARs, etc.)
  • 6+ years leading compliance efforts and engagement with DCAA/DCMA
  • 3+ years of experience in developing global trade strategies
  • 3+ years of experience in compliance matters, corrective actions, and monitoring
  • 6+ years of experience in the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment and an eagerness to build relationships
  • Experience using Lean and/or simplifying and improving business processes
  • Experience collaborating internally and externally to achieve business objectives
  • Experience applying ITAR and EAR compliance requirements

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
Salary Range: California
$94,000$150,000 USD

U.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUS

The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing. This status includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), and asylees and refugees with such status granted, not pending.
