Job Summary
Aerospace is seeking an EHS Specialist (Environment Health & Safety Specialist II/III) to manage and implement Occupational Safety and Environmental programs such as emergency planning, fire protection, life safety, fire systems inspections and maintenance, fall protection, electrical safety, LOTO, contractor safety, injury investigation, laser safety, and others.
Work Model
This position will be full-time position based in Chantilly, VA, which requires 100% onsite work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Implements and enhances EHS awareness in the workplace through implementation of established Corporate EHS programs
- Collaborates with customers to mutually establish EHS requirements and priorities as a basis for department goals
- Ensures compliance with internal EHS regulations as well as compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including completing inspections and maintaining records, as required
- Interface with Emergency Response and Crisis Management teams
- Investigate injuries/incidents to determine root cause and develop corrective actions and track to completion
- Assists in training personnel regarding environmental, health, safety programs, matters, regulations and EHS awareness programs
- Respond to on-site emergencies, such as evacuation, shelter-in-place, and lock down
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for Environment Health & Safety Specialist II:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, or related field with a minimium of 1 year of experience
- Willing to travel domestically approximately 5% of time
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Environment Health & Safety Specialist III include:
- 2-3 years of experience
- Program and project management experience
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- 4-5 years of experience
- First Aid, CPR, AED Certified
- Experienced with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI Standards
- Experience with environmental, health, and safety best practices, standards, and methodologies
