Position Overview (Summary/Objective):

We are seeking a SAP ABAP Developer to handle day to day development issues in a best practices aligned manner.  This person will be responsible for the day to day troubleshooting of issues in SAP.  You will need to understand business process and how it is handled in SAP, while managing the communication of effort and ultimately the development of business requests.  Manage configuration items with the understanding of how they affect the environment and ultimate output.  Follow a proper enterprise SDLC to achieve consistency and reliability.

Responsibilities:

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Recommending, building, and establishing processes and procedures to maintain the ERP across all locations.
  • Ensuring that processes within the ERP follow CMMC guidelines and do not expose Arka
  • Manage SAP maintenance and releases following best practices
  • Ensure backups of critical data are monitored and healthy at all times
  • Manage configuration
  • Work closely with functional teams to understand their requirements.
  • Translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
  • Design, code, test and implement SAP modules and applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during development, implementation and operation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related subject or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years of demonstrated hands-on experience with SAP including:

  • ABAP development
  • Configuration and release management in an enterprise SAP environment.
  • Operating in a software development life cycle customized for SAP and best practices aligned
  • Incident queue management and troubleshooting
  • Experience in SAP modules including FI, CO, FSCM
  • Demonstrated ability to convert designs/requirements into ABAP code
  • Full cycle implementation is preferred

Understanding of and experience with ERP related activities such as:

  • Working with cross functional teams to understand their requirements and build a document which translates those requirements into development items.
  • Maintain a development schedule and communicate priorities
  • Report building and delivery including presentation to the consumer (dept.)
  • Government reporting requirements
  • GRC Role assignment and development
  • Onboarding and offboarding \ maintaining users in the system
  • Possesses and applies experience and knowledge of different development options to evaluate multiple alternatives and determine the optimal technical solution
  • Understands and employs proper data modeling techniques when developing new data structures to support applications.
  • Displays an understanding of debugging techniques. Debugs code in technical area of expertise for functional and performance issues.
