Position Overview:

Provide team leadership for the Test Technician group, as well as direct support to programs and internal projects as a hands-on contributor. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading an integrated product team as a technical hands-on SME of Test Technicians
  • Providing overall team leadership which includes, managing work assignments, setting and achieving technical standards, organizing training, ensuring compliance to company procedures, balancing resources and setting priorities
  • Manage employee development of a team with varying levels of experience
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and provide creative solutions to highly complex, interdisciplinary engineering issues
  • Must have the ability to work self-directed with very limited oversight and in a team environment
  • Will be accountable for both space flight and non-space flight development program deliverable while maintain cost and schedule
  • Provide strategic vision, lead projects outside of normal job responsibilities, and communicate with external parties such as customers and vendors

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in testing complex electro-optical systems, with proven ability to direct and oversee other digital electrical engineers’ technical work
  • Strong communication skills with experience directing and overseeing the progress of other technicians, developing technical tasks including cost & schedule estimates, and meeting planned commitments
  • Proven experience in cable assembly, soldering, use of test equipment, board and subassembly testing
  • Experience and knowledge of thermal and thermal vacuum testing of flight space hardware
  • Experience in supporting proposal preparation; proficient in cost estimates, BOE's, and technical content
