Redwire Space has a current opportunity in Jacksonville, Florida for a Payroll Manager with expertise in managing payroll staff and payroll systems at one or more locations. In this role as a Payroll Manager you will support all payroll functions to provide assurance that the company is operating efficiently, effectively and economically; ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and policies; safeguarding assets; maintaining reliability and integrity of computer-generated data; and sustaining appropriate revenue management.
Responsibilities:
- Manages payroll staff and payroll systems at one or more locations.
- Responsible for maintaining sensitive and confidential information.
- Evaluates and determines changes in methods or procedures in assigned area of responsibility.
- Reviews personnel records to determine names, rates of pay, occupations of new hires, and changes in wage rates and occupations of employees on payroll.
- Directs computation of pay according to company policy.
- Oversees compilation and preparation of other payroll data.
- Reviews and approves payroll deductions, interprets company policies and government regulations in connection with payroll procedures, and directs preparation of government reports.
- Manages the payroll function of processing timecards, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, recording hours of work, and calculating payrolls.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as preparation of records of expenditures, progress reports, etc., in order to inform management of current status or work activities.
- Analyzes department budget to identify budget needs and/or reductions and may allocate operating budgets funds. Interprets company policy to employees and enforces safety regulations.
- Analyzes payrolls for accuracy and takes corrective action where needed.
- May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
Ideal Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or other closely related degree.
- 10 or more years of accounting and/or payroll experience, with at least 4 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Expert knowledge of GAAP.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, to include VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables.
- US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR regulations.
Desired Skills:
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to use judgement in unknown or difficult situations.
- Deltek CostPoint ERP system experience strongly preferred.
- Government Contracting or Aerospace and Defense experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail and deadline mindset.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
