Summary

We have a current opportunity for an Staff Electrical Design Engineer Lead located at our facility in Littleton, CO. This is a hands-on, circuit design role for a wide range of customers ranging from commercial CubeSats, larger GEO spacecraft, moon shot missions, and beyond! We are looking for someone that has a wide range of experience in PCA and PCB design, mentoring junior engineers, and planning for future projects with management and customers.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the design, build, and test of space-based electronics for multiple projects. Proving out a design using simulation and mathematics.
Collaborating design with Software, Mechanical and Operations to bring a product from concept to production.
Act as an engineering team lead on small to medium sized projects.
Serve as a mentor to engineering design team.
Assist with developing architecture solutions with Systems Engineering and Program Management and other functional groups.
Assisting with new business development efforts by interfacing with customers and business unit teams.

Ideal Experience

BS Degree in an Engineering discipline, Electrical Engineering preferred.
Minimum 8 years of experience designing electronic circuits using CAD based programs.
Extensive PCB/Layout experience.
Proven track record of successful product release.
Simulation experience with a Spice based tool
Experience working with SMPS, Load Switches, Op-Amps and Comparators
Need some experience with either microcontrollers, FPGAs, or embedded processors.

Desired Skills

Experience designing for commercial space, or traditional space with commercial product experience.
Desired analog circuit design experience:
- Experience designing isolated and non-isolated SMPS using discrete components. Using power bricks does not count.
- Common and Differential Mode power filtering.
- Active filter and amplifier design.
- High Side FET drive experience with either monolithic or discrete solutions.
- GaN FET experience a big plus!
Desired digital circuit design experience:
- ARM or equivalent µC experience.
- 100-T and 1000-T Ethernet Design.
- PCIe experience a plus.
- QSPI, I2C, LVDS serial communications expertise.
- USB 3.0 experience.
- RS232, RS422, and variants.
- Some C programming experience desired.
- High speed (>10Gbps) layout and routing experience a big plus!
Experience with Altium or Xpedition.
EE Team Leadership experience
Simulation experience with Spice type tool.
Cradle-to-grave product development experience.
Cross-Functional engineering experience highly desired.
Customer interface experience.

Pay Range:
$125,000-155,000

How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy)
Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
