Job Description

EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer II - Software in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown. MD.

Responsibilities:

Participate in Requirements gathering and system design.
Interface with Business Stakeholders to collaborate on feature design.
Support queries from Business about the platform
Participate in the full lifecycle of software development.
Perform system and unit design according to technical requirements.
Ensure that all the processes and methodologies are followed.
roubleshoot and support Applications in test and production environments.
Research new application frameworks and suggest improvements to the application portfolio.
Participate in mentoring junior team members and ensuring quality delivery.
Work with Project Managers to provide technical support.
Responsible for responding to the change management requests including new features and bugs.
Define and implement improvements for service assurance, performance, security, and robustness.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s in computer science or similar technical degree
7+ years of work experience as a software application developer
Minimum 3yrs experience in BPM and Node.js development

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Java, Node.js, Springboot, J2EE, Oracle PL/SQL
Understanding of the OSS/BSS in an ISP context
Experience in DevSecOps and CICD related tools
Experience in virtualization and containerization technologies
Proficient in test automation with tools similar to Jmeter and Junit
Experience in Databases both relational and non-SQL
Experience with API Gateway, Swagger is desired
Experience with Public Cloud (i.e. GCP, AWS, Azure) desired
Experience with Git, Bitbucket is desirable

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
