Northrop Grumman Space sector, Payloads and Ground Systems division, is seeking a Principal Quality Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Baltimore, MD.

The Quality Analyst will:

  • Prepares, maintain and reviews PGS procedures to assure compliance with customer and/or government requirements.
  • Utilize various problem-solving methods and techniques to isolate variables in order to identify cause(s) of undesirable process results. Develop solution options and propose most effective options to optimize predictable and repeatable results.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, interpreting, analyzing and summarizing data and present solution proposals at various forums.
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Performs statistical analysis to analyze trends, and works with site functions to investigate trends, conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions for processes and products.
  • Drives corrective and preventive actions, including process and product design improvements for procedural, product, or process deficiencies through the analysis of data from various sources. Generates routine reports for review by management.
  • Mentors and develops personnel to use various lean and six sigma techniques and tools.
  • Process procedural changes from Sector, Site, and Functional Organizations.
  • Review and approval of purchase requisitions including the assignment of quality clauses
  • Coordination of external vendors performing verification testing
  • Investigate problems and develop disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
  • Team with manufacturing, engineering, material management, supplier, and customer personnel to resolve quality problems Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) development and implementation.
  • Recommend corrective actions, dispositions, and process modifications as required.
  • Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to various processes.
  • Ensure that products and processes conform to established company and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain supplier quality system performance and customer satisfaction data/metrics.
  • Contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.  Support improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as consultant to management and on matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives.
  • Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using various quality control analysis methods.

Basic Requirements for a Principal Quality Analyst:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience in supplier quality/mission assurance environment (or 4+ years of relevant experience with a Master's degree) or 10 years of exp in lieu of degree.
  • Strong MS Office Application skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Database applications
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
  • Experience in QMS development, implementation, and maintenance to the ISO 9001 or AS9100 standard. 

Salary Range: $84,600.00 - $127,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
