Vast is looking for a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Manager, reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Operations to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities:

Work with internal engineering and manufacturing departments to understand their business objectives and translate them into technical requirements
Develop training documentation and hold company wide trainings for overall system use
Collaborate with the information systems team and MES vendor to implement necessary updates and system upgrades
Manage MES content to ensure that it stays in sync with current procedures and processes
Suggest/evaluate system architecture upgrades and improvements to better align the MES system with business needs
Plan, manage, and communicate project work
Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and vendors on configuration/development of system components
Assist in the workflow or program the solution components, configuration/development of solutions using Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
Provide application support services to internal customers
Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary depending on business needs. (Long Beach / Hawthorne / Mojave)

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (12 years); or an Associate’s Degree with 6 years of work experience.
5+ years of experience with commercial off the shelf MES/MOM products (such as Aveva/Wonderware, Rockwell MES, ParsecTraksys)
5+ years of experience in project management or delivery

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Workflow or program the solution components, configuration/development of solutions using Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) and programming skills (such as C#, .Net, JavaScript, bootstrap, HTML5
2+ years experience with flight rated manufacturing processes
5+ years of experience in one or more with Manufacturing Shop floors systems
5+ years of exposure to manufacturing process
Experience with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
Experience with programming languages
Understanding of reference architectures such as ISA95 and ISA88
Experience with software development lifecycle

Additional Requirements:

Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
Ability to travel between locations when needed

Salary Range: California

$100,000—$140,000 USD
