Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Summer Intern Quality Engineer. In this role, you will be directly supporting the Orion Human Space Flight program at Kennedy Space Center in a fast-paced Manufacturing, Assembly, Test and Launch Operations (ATLO) environment. You will work with the experienced Quality Engineering team to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished material products. You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place while devising and implementing methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings/documentation reviews. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.  This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
• Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university
• Work or classroom experience with manufacturing processes and/or engineering documentation
• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

• Knowledge of Quality Systems and Processes
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Strong verbal, and written communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task, be thorough and detail-oriented, with strong job closure and analytical skills.
• Candidate must also demonstrate a strong ability to understand and communicate technical issues verbally and produce detailed presentations on a regular basis. With this for consideration, the ability to present technical data to senior leadership on a regular basis will be required.
• An ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to develop performance metrics using Microsoft Excel and take appropriate action

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
