CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT, LAUNCH PAD (STARSHIP)

As a member of the Launch Pad team, you will supervise and lead a group of laborers and contractors to enable the build and activation of the Starship Launch Pad out of Cape Canaveral.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage SpaceX construction assets (trailers, portas, rental equipment, etc.)
  • Implement and enforce SpaceX safety policies. Drive the safety culture on the jobsite through contractor and internal partners
  • Manage a team of workers, including work schedules, own project progress, and resource allocation
  • Create cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials, and other project costs
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, other construction managers to determine budget and timeline
  • Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers
  • Maintain a daily log for the job site’s operations, reporting to management as necessary
  • Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines
  • Interact with contractors, fabricators, and internal customers
  • Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time
  • Responsible for contractor badging and security through Cape/Kennedy Space Center badging process

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of professional experience overseeing construction for aerospace or industrial infrastructure

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience with project management and scheduling software
  • Design experience in a technical field
  • Understanding of multiple disciplines such as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, geotechnical, and surveying
  • Experience with project management of major construction projects including estimating, cost control, schedule, and contractor management
  • Experience reading, reviewing, and approving shop and fabrication drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while maintaining a high sense of urgency in a high-paced, challenging work environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively
  • Manufacturing facility experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position is based in Cape Canaveral, Florida (Kennedy Space Center Area), and requires being onsite – remote work not considered
  • Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
  • Ability to perform hands-on work in all environments (heat, cold, rain), in tight quarters or at heights
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to focus while working in hazardous conditions and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:    
Construction Superintendent/Level I: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year
Construction Superintendent/Level II: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00/per year  

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
