Job description

Company Overview:

At Relativity Space, we have two audacious goals: to build the next great commercial launch company with Terran R and to become America's leading force in additive manufacturing innovation. Both contribute to our long-term vision of creating humanity’s industrial base on Mars, paving the way for interplanetary life to expand the possibilities of the human experience. This journey begins right here on Earth – where we design, build, and fly rockets to deliver customer payloads to orbit. Terran R, our medium-to-heavy lift reusable rocket, fulfills the growing demand for launch capacity, thanks to our iterative approach that accelerates design, testing, and development while minimizing costs. While our groundbreaking research and development in 3D printing pushes the boundaries of large-scale additive manufacturing.

Your journey with us is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to shape the future of aerospace technology, additive manufacturing, and the human experience alongside a community of passionate, creative individuals. Join us on this extraordinary journey, as we work together to transform our vision into reality.

About the Team:

The Launch Supply Chain team at Relativity Space is dedicated to optimizing the supply chain networks essential for building and launching the next-generation reusable launch vehicle, Terran R. As an Inventory Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring efficient, timely material movement. You will manage the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) inventory, develop expertise in our enterprise systems (ERP, MES, etc.), and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across various work centers, including the weld shop, launch pad, fluids technicians, infrastructure, and integration teams.

About the Role:

  • Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to implement strategies that meet production goals.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the acceptance, storage, and issuance of parts. Manage a min/max replenishment system to optimize inventory placement and reduce delivery times. Physically organize hardware according to mBOMs, record trace information, ensure timely delivery to the production floor, input new inventory items into the ERP system, perform cycle counts, recover unused hardware, and return it to stock. Fulfill part requests and kit parts per engineering BOMs.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Standardize shipping and receiving processes. Package, weigh, and measure shipments in compliance with safety and EHS guidelines. Manage incoming shipments, digital transactions, and vendor documentation. Coordinate with shipping vendors, obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities.
  • Material Planning: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and optimization. Collaborate with Engineering to establish stock levels for flight hardware, tooling, consumables, and GSE. Coordinate with Production to meet hardware needs and brief Operations on any hardware delays affecting schedules.
  • Process Improvement: Lead projects aimed at enhancing materials management processes. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by supporting and implementing vetted ideas. Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams to address and resolve part shortages.
  • Work Schedule: Must be flexible to work non-standard shifts, including overtime and weekends, as needed.

About You:

  • 3+ years of experience in a logistics role, with a focus on shipping and receiving.
  • 2+ years of experience working with ERP, MES, and/or WMS software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software suites.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining inventory processes on a production floor.
  • Experience in establishing or managing physical inventory locations.

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Associate degree or higher.
  • Forklift certification or equivalent certifications.
  • Logistics experience in aerospace or automotive environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to define and manage a process independently.
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.

Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
