The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate and efficient movement, storage, and management of materials within the warehouse or manufacturing facility. This role involves handling inventory, ensuring timely supply of materials to production lines, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receiving and Unloading: Receive and unload incoming materials and verify their quantities and conditions against purchase orders
  • Storage: Properly store materials in designated locations, ensuring they are easily accessible and organized
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, perform regular cycle counts, and report any discrepancies
  • Material Handling: Transport materials to and from production lines, workstations, storage areas, and loading docks using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks
  • Order Fulfillment: Pick and prepare materials for production or shipment based on work orders or shipping instructions
  • Quality Control: Inspect materials for defects or damages and report any issues to the supervisor
  • Documentation: Complete necessary documentation for receiving, shipping, and inventory transactions
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Operate equipment safely and responsibly
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of waste materials and debris
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure smooth operations and timely material flow
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer skills for inventory management systems
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (certification may be required)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25 lbs)

  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., temperature variations, noise)
