This position, based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a vital role in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position, and this role is on-site with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program serves as the core element of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively manage designated networked sensors and weapon systems to meet global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that provides an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations worldwide and locally, thereby enhancing performance. Additionally, C2BMC is an essential component of all ground and flight tests, which verify and demonstrate current and future capabilities of the missile defense system.
The selected candidate will be part of a team that reports to the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO) and conducts daily system monitoring, operations, and maintenance of the C2BMC systems in a 24/7 operational and testing environment.
Essential Functions:
- Will provide first-level technical support to the warfighter and perform initial troubleshooting of all local C2BMC hardware, software, and networks
- Will document and report all events and issues to the CWO and receive tasking and direction from the CCC for all operations, tests, and real-world events
- Will also assist with all hardware and software installations as directed by the local SMEs and create and maintain user accounts as directed by the local ISSO
- Will focus on Lab and Test activities
- Performs other duties and assignments as required
Basic Qualifications:
Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline from an accredited university is preferred, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with no experience; or 6 years of related experience may substitute for a degree
- Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
- DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, etc.) is required to start
- The position requires rotating 24/7 shift work. The candidate will be assigned to a specific shift and either Ops or Training, depending on mission priorities. Some relief rotations during off-shifts, including nights and weekends, will also be necessary
- Must have background and experience with the operation and maintenance of large-scale computer and communications systems or networking environments
- Solid background and expertise in system and/or network administration that includes:
- UNIX
- Linux
- Windows
- Cisco
- Juniper
- Strong background and experience in troubleshooting hardware and software components
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- A current and active in-scope DoD-issued TS/SCI clearance at the time of application is highly preferred
- Experience and knowledge of C2BMC System or Missile Defense Systems

Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $110,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
