Job Summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Corporate Space Planning & Real Estate Manager to join its Facilities Division. This exciting position is responsible for the management and administration of corporate space planning and real estate management for a two-million square foot portfolio of owned and leased spaces across the United States which is occupied by Aerospace personnel and government customers.  The team owns the processes for the obtaining, planning, deploying, and relinquishing all corporate facility space, as well as the maintenance of the corporate database, for the space and the personnel occupying that space. Close coordination occurs with the Capital Planning & Budgeting, Design, and the Construction teams to outfit facilities. 

Work Model

This position will be a hybrid work model of generally four days per week onsite at our El Segundo, CA campus, with remote balance of days or as business conditions allow.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leads and manages the space planning and real estate teams in developing strategic facilities plans for the use and allocation of space to maximize efficiency and meet corporate business objectives.
  • Partners with requestors of space and their management to understand needs and build business cases supporting requests for space; presents comprehensive overview with proposed solutions for management review; partners with leadership to understand complex future corporate strategic space needs.
  • Reviews customer collocation agreements and suitability of allocated space to ensure contractual compliance; directs program representatives in case of non-compliances.
  • Manages relationships with landlords, property managers, corporate leadership, and supporting divisions to collaborate with real estate brokers to negotiate and establish new leases and lease renewals in support of corporate needs.
  • Reviews and interprets all lease related documents and coordinates their review by broker, Legal, Finance, Risk Management, regional users, and senior management.
  • Prepares proposals, project schedules, financial analyses, budgets, forecasts, and real estate documents for review by senior management.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant field
  • Three or more years of relevant Corporate Real Estate and Space Planning experience
  • Three or more years of relevant management experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of both internal and external customers and corporate staff
  • Ability and willingness to travel on occasion to owned, leased, and customer site facilities

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Advanced degree in related field
  • Five or more years of relevant Corporate Real Estate and Space Planning experience
  • Experience dealing with classified space as defined by ICD705
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Tableau, AutoCAD

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.  The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below.  Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
