Job description

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to work on a microsat and related systems for one of our customers. The job is based in the center of Europe, in the multicultural country of Luxembourg.
You will be part of an existing experienced systems team on an ongoing project. You will contribute by undertaking your share of the work, eliciting requirements, developing subsystems, managing interfaces, and performing functional analyses. You will work closely with the rest of the systems team, project manager, architect and other departments to guarantee successful delivery of the milestones.
You will be an integral part of a committed team of experienced, friendly, and talented colleagues, who are passionate about systems engineering and support each other perfectly. You will have the chance to work with innovative technologies and take a leading role in shaping the satellite systems of the future.

The ideal candidate will...

  • Participate in and contribute to the development and qualification of a microsatellite in a medium-sized technical team.
  • Define and manage requirements for verification of the satellite's electrical, on-board data handling, AOCS, and/or EGSE subsystems.
  • Perform satellite functional analysis and design trade-offs.
  • Manage satellite internal interfaces.
  • Manage satellite external interfaces (payload, launcher) for potential customers.
  • Lead System HW / SW integration activities.
  • Support satellite AIT (hands-on) and perform verification activities.
  • Support preparation of proposals to potential customers.

What we are looking for

  • A testing mindset. A knack for uncovering bugs, and an eagerness to break things so that you can further improve them after.
  • At least five years of experience in systems engineering. Experience in the satellite sector is a bonus.
  • Experience in automated testing and scripting. Experience with TCL scripting is a plus.
  • Experience in Linux to facilitate troubleshooting and log collection (command line, logging, file permissions). Basic shell scripting is a plus.
  • A bachelorโ€™s degree in Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • You are self-motivated and enjoy taking on the role of the gatekeeper of quality for our systems deliverables.
  • You are comfortable working in Agile mode.
  • Effective communication skills, and English at business proficiency level.
  • You are an excellent team player.
  • You are expected to relocate to Luxembourg, as youโ€™re expected to work either at the office, at the client location, or from home.
  • Preference is given to candidates holding a valid work permit for Luxembourg.

What we offer

  • An attractive salary and relocation package.
  • A supportive environment where people come first.
  • Flexible and remote working options.
  • An opportunity to work in a challenging fast-paced environment with the latest technologies which affect the lives of millions of people around the globe.
  • Work-life balance which includes an exciting lifestyle in the heart of Europe, in the multicultural city of Luxembourg.
