Job description

We are seeking a motivated Systems Engineer that wants to be part of the development of novel thermal control and energy storage systems for rovers, habitats, landers, satellites and beyond. As a systems engineer, your main responsibilities will be to drive the design and development activities of Lunar Outpost's innovative systems from concept to product realization. The selected candidate must be capable of working independently in a fast-paced startup environment.

 

As a Systems Engineer, your key technical responsibilities include:

  • Perform requirement analysis and validation, requirement allocation, and requirement maintenance from system to component level to meet project goals.
  • Define, implement, and monitor development approach for engineering activities
  • Work with engineering teams to define the scope, goals, and acceptance criteria for testing activities.
  • Perform system-level trade off activities
  • Prepare and maintain system functional and physical architectures performing functional and physical analysis
  • Prepare and maintain ICDs, FMECA, Verification Planning Control document, and other technical documents.
  • Coordinate testing activities through all development phases to ensure system and subsystem requirements are met.
  • Conduct internal technical discussion sessions to review and update subsystem trade-offs.
  • Coordinate external stakeholder's discussions
  • Generate documents and technical data packs for different reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.).
  • Provide technical inputs for project proposals.
  • Manage system engineering work packages of various projects


Required Qualifications

  • Master-level degree in engineering with preferably an aerospace background and/or specialization in System Engineering, Mission Analysis or other system-related disciplines
  • 2-3 years of work in systems engineering
  • Familiarity with relevant standards (ECSS, NASA GEVS)
  • Familiarity with MBSE approach
  • Availability to start in Q4 2024
  • Ability and desire to relocate to Luxembourg
  • Attention to details and problem solving skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience in the space industry
  • Experience with thermal systems or related applications
  • Experience working with MBSE tools
