EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Aviation Engineer – Tier 2 in our Hughes Network Systems division. This role will be located at our customer site in Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall requirements for the Aero Operations Teams to include Technical Operations and the Atlanta Maintenance Control Center (MCC).
  • Provide engineering teams with insights and requirements for the design of tools and systems that align with operational needs.
  • Define automation requirements to optimize tools and systems to drive organizational efficiency and cost savings
  • Act as a bridge between Engineering, Development, and PMO to foster collaboration and alignment between critical departments.
  • Primary escalation point for the Tier 1 technicians at the MCC-Atlanta.
  • Hands-on leader with 5+ years of operational experience, ideally from an aviation-centric service provider background or VSAT/Satcom. This ensures a deep understanding of operational needs.
  • Support operational preparedness from a Service Provider (aviation centric preferred)

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, aviation, a similar field or a combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of technical and network operations experience
  • 3+ years of experience in operations management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Satellite Communications systems experience (GEO, MEO, LEO), as a service provider
  • Aviation software and hardware experience in installation, maintenance, and repair
  • Network Operations background with major service provider experience
  • Operations Management background from education or work experience
  • Airline maintenance experience

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $77,500.00 - $97,000.00
