RF Signal Processing Engineer

Work Model: This is a mostly onsite role, requiring 4 days/week onsite in Chantilly, VA

What You’ll Be Doing

• Employ and develop sophisticated simulation tools to perform space payload and ground processing designs in support of architecture concept trade studies, requirements verification, analyses-of-alternatives, and performance modeling. 
• Studies will focus on Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Moving Target Indication (MTI), maritime surveillance, and electronic warfare.
• Act as a technical expert for a portfolio of high-impact projects, engaging in team projects to collaborate with other experts and provide enterprise solutions
• Working with our expert teams, combined with sophisticated in-house laboratories and capabilities, enables you to shape the future of Radar and be part of our nation’s space mission.   
• Engineering innovative and sophisticated Radar and SAR solutions for the latest space applications  
• Architecting SAR antenna, payload and sensor performance for mission success  
• Designing SAR image formation processors to improve product quality and investigate innovative applications of advanced radar products 
• Model target RF signatures for exploitation applications
• Characterizing performance to support program acquisition, planning and maturation 
• Partnering with technical experts across multiple disciplines to explore innovative solutions to critical national missions 

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

• Master’s degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Geophysics, or related technical discipline 
• 2 or more years of professional experience working with RF technologies
• Technically adept with MATLAB or Python
• Desire to learn signal and/or image processing
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively
• Willingness to submit to a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph for Top Secret/SCI access 

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

• PHD degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Geophysics, or related technical discipline  
• Familiarity with SAR signal and/or image processing
• Familiarity with antenna and payload hardware designs
• Experience with space based systems
• Current and active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
