Firefly Aerospace is tackling problems in the “new space” market, which means we have opportunities to extract the best processes from “heritage space” development and combine that with today’s available technology to provide seamless solutions for these challenges.

We are currently searching for a Senior DevOps Engineer to think critically about software development operations and find ways to implement automation throughout our organization. You will work closely with the Engineering Applications development team to push for continuous integration and deployment strategies. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Automate management and monitoring systems to maintain our software application reliability and performance.
  • Architect and build a modern, robust IaC framwork in a hybrid environment.
  • Introduce continuous improvements to our build and release processes and tooling.
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work in a product development process that is primarily Agile/Scrum.
  • Support development of KPI’s to evaluate metrics for database performance.
  • Develop technical, functional documentation, and user guides complying with audit requirements.
  • Respond to support requests for bugs & issues reported.
  • Support training development for all levels of the organization as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:

  • 6+ years of prior experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related discipline (4+ years direct industry experience may be substituted).
  • Experience deploying & maintaining Kubernetes clusters, and docker containers.
  • Experience with scripting modern languages such as python, node,etc
  • 6+ years of git and terraform experience.
  • 6+ years of AWS experience.
  • 6+ years of building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Good interpersonal skills with experience interfacing effectively between business groups and IT teams.
  • Ability to document and communicate requirements.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a “make it happen” attitude.
  • Knowledge of best engineering practices in agile software development: architectural paradigms, code reviews, branching, task management, documentation, and testing.
  • On-premise/Cloud hybrid environment experience
  • Experience building docker images & maintaining an image repository such harbor repository.

Desired Requirements:

  • Experience deploying K8s and containers on local hardware (on-premise)
  • Ability to plan and develop sustainable app/web-server environments.
  • Evaluate development/infrastructure tools and generate value proposition report.
  • Experience with infrastructure automations tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in version controlling and managing system/application configurations.
