About the Role
As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will play a fundamental role in supporting our dynamic company in planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, international, and other applicable tax laws and regulations, as well as financial reporting for income taxes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate taxation and be well-versed in the complexities of accounting for income taxes under ASC 740. You will support direct and indirect taxes, including income, sales and use, property, and consumption-based taxes. You’ll actively monitor U.S., state, and international tax matters, track tax legislative and judicial actions, analyze potential impacts/benefits, and implement action plans for the Company. Your duties will also include analyzing tax ramifications of strategic initiatives or significant M&A transactions, performing technical review and research of complex tax return issues, and support of the design and execution of tax controls.Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate filings
Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740
Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to gather information for tax compliance and financial reporting
Conduct tax research of laws and regulations and develop tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position
Assist with the preparation of tax forecasts and estimations to support financial planning
Liaise with external tax consultants and auditors during examinations and audits, particularly in support of the tax provision process
Maintain internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
Stay abreast of industry trends and changes in tax legislation that may impact the company
Assist with special projects and other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or other related field
Working knowledge and experience with domestic and international income tax compliance, documentation, and reporting functions
Familiarity with ASC 740 and financial reporting related to taxes
Knowledge of the monitoring and maintenance of tax controls
Strong business analytical skills with experience analyzing and interpreting financial data and preparing financial reports and/or projections
Proven experience and skills in time management, briefing, presentation, and strategic thinking
Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly express concepts in verbal and written forms; ability to tailor conversations to adapt to varying audiences
Ability to navigate change and uncertainty, make defensible decisions in ambiguity and own those decisions
Preferred Qualifications:
Typically, 2 - 4 years of relevant and demonstrated tax experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), JD, Masters in Taxation, or LL.M in Taxation
Experience with OneSource and Vertex Tax Software
Demonstrated passion for ideation, intellectual curiosity, and innovation, as well as motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision or purpose
Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and understand complex technical and program interdependencies
Proven long-term and strategic perspective that extends beyond the immediate initiatives; visualizes and articulates a clear direction
Understanding of Federal acquisition Regulations (FAR)/ Defense Federal acquisition Regulations (DFARS) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) compliance
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense (Civilian), NASA/Civil or commercial space, and/or US Military, with an understanding of defense, aerospace, intelligence, and adjacent markets
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
