ispace-US is looking for a Senior Payload Sales Specialist to fill a critical role building relationships and identifying growth opportunities between the ispace community, customers, and internal stakeholders.

This role will collaborate closely with the Director of Business Development, the US Business Development team, and Corporate business leaders to build a strong pipeline of opportunities and to close deals. In this nascent lunar services market, candidates must bring a creative approach to establishing relationships and consortia to mature opportunities to the point where they become sales. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Focused on payload opportunities, this position may also support data sales, cooperative agreements / MOUs, and other business relationships
  • Support and develop strategies to identify target clients and the outreach required to learn about their payloads, transportation requirements, funding availability, timeframe for lunar transport and other relevant information.
  • Effectively communicate ispace US capabilities and value propositions in ways that communicate tangible and meaningful benefits to the target clients.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships at all levels within customer organizations, including demonstrated ability to be a customer networker.
  • Act as the primary and ongoing sales contact and coordinator for those people and organizations with whom you have begun to develop relationships, supporting their information needs and generating close relationships to make ispace their preferred lunar transportation provider.
  • Understand industry economics, trends, technologies, values and behaviors to provide specific sales process methods to accomplish sales.
  • Develops close customer relationships at all levels within their target clientele, driven by a defined account management plan and active project activity.
  • Actively participate in/ coordinate through U.S. and global sales teams to maximize and mature sales opportunities through qualification, development, and closing of new opportunities.
  • Consistently and effectively follow the ispace Gate Review and other processes to gain approval and support for business opportunities requiring significant internal resources.
  • Keep current ispace US client and opportunity records within the company CRM system to provide companywide visibility to the status and needs of active opportunities across all stages of development, clearly communicate the details of each client and opportunity, using the tools and features available in the system.
  • Initiate, coordinate, direct, and support sales activities, proposal development, and value selling on ispace opportunities where needed by the business development team.
  • Support the continuous development and improvement of customer orientated sales materials, processes, and tools for use by the extended business development team.
  • Proactively drives sales to meet ispace US revenue and profit objectives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or space related field with sales experience.  We will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 10+ years’ experience business development or sales related functions in aerospace/lunar space
  • In-depth understanding of ispace capabilities, government space exploration programs, the aerospace industry, with focus on lunar activities.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools 

Preferred Skills

  • Masters Degree in Business or space related field.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary based upon experience - $150-160,000+. The salary posted is a targeted range for budget of position.  Base compensation can be negotiated and will be commensurate with experience, skills, education, and training.
