Are you an experienced security professional eager for the opportunity to use your know-how at the most exciting next-generation company in National Security Space? We are looking for a motivated Industrial Security Representative (ISR) / Contract Program Security Office (CPSO) with strong SCI program knowledge and experience to work closely with the security team to support Umbra’s growing national security portfolio. Reporting to the Security Manager, you will be a key contributor to our fast-paced technology company, where your expertise will help shape the security program and contribute meaningfully to Umbra’s growth.


The selected candidate will provide multi-disciplined Security support and perform CPSO and Facility Security Officer (FSO) duties for collateral and SCI programs. This role will be responsible for all aspects of security to include personnel, physical, and program security, policy guidance and research, inspection readiness, OpSec requirements, and security education. The ISR/CPSO will interface with all levels of Umbra personnel and customers to ensure contract security compliance with National Industrial Security Operating Manual 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), DoD 5220.22-M, Intelligence Community Directives, Contract Security Classification Specification (DD254) and Program Classification Guides. This position is onsite in our Rosslyn, VA office.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing the industrial security program and ensuring compliance with applicable government and company regulations.
  • Responsible for administering multi-functions of a security program such as Personnel Security (PERSEC), Operational Security (OPSEC), Physical Security, Program Security, and Security Education Training and Awareness.
  • Responsible for the physical security of a SCIF to include access control, alarm testing, responding to alarms to include after hours, weekends and holidays when required.
  • Conduct security self-inspections and audits, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments, and implement security measures to meet requirements.
  • Provide program security and classification management guidance to employees, develop and provide security education and awareness training, and investigate security incidents. 
  • Creating and conducting initial security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, pre/post foreign travel briefings and refresher briefings, as appropriate.
  • Coordinate all incoming and outgoing classified visits.
  • Other professional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Candidate must possess an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility & current CI Poly.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the NISPOM, other government regulations (e.g.  Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and Security Executive Agent Directives (SEADs).
  • Thorough understanding and working experience with government security databases such as NISS, DISS, NBIS.
  • Experience creating and conducting standard operating procedures, security plans/briefing and security education and awareness materials.
  • Experience with personnel clearances and access nomination packages for submission to various customers. Experience reviewing SF 86s, Foreign Contact Forms and other supplemental forms.
  • Knowledge of Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems.
  • The position requires a self-motivated candidate that is capable of working in an independent or team environment with minimal direction.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working on space portfolios in government or industry across the DoD and IC, including the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), National Geospatial Agency (NGA), US Space Force (USSF), US Air Force (USAF), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and DARPA.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Eagerness to wear many hats and desire to expand beyond your core function.
  • Knowledge of government space architectures and networks.
