Assembly Technician (Day Shift)

ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES 

A mechanical assembly technician with an understanding of building electromechanical sub-assemblies in a low volume manufacturing environment.  

Experience with building complex electromechanical interconnecting systems within a cell manufacturing environment, including handling of printed circuit boards and assemblies, cable harnesses, electronic components and mechanical parts.    

Ability to follow work instructions ensuring that each assembly is built consistently to a high quality. A proactive team player that contributes to improvement activities and highlights issues / changes required to the process in order to improve quality and throughput whilst tightly following safe production and quality processes.  

Conscious of production goals and deadlines – the candidate will need to be flexible, working additional hours as required.  

Interaction with the shop floor materials management system, building to schedule against works orders.  

The Role will involve reporting work complete, recording of data such as serial numbers, subcomponents and simple test data (mainly pass / fail )  and updating associated records, therefore PC literacy is a must. 

The candidate will be required to operate test equipment for the checking of subassemblies and the full terminal. 

A level of safe and controlled material handling will be required transferring products between work areas as well as handling of parts within the sub assembly area.  

Ability to work in a fast-moving team to create first of kind products through to low volume manufacture in a product development facility with a high variety of skilled activities.  

Requirements

Good communication skills within the team and with the onsite engineering team highlighting and explaining issues experienced within the day-to-day assembly of satellite terminals
