Here at The Exploration Company we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit, and which carries cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented Analog Electronic Design Engineer to help us in our mission by developing the electronic systems we need for our capsule to fly. 

You will be successful in this role if you are able to help us:
  • Designing printed circuit boards with measurement interfaces and analog functions for space environment
  • Designing analog circuitry, ADC stages and control loops (thermocouple / NTC  thermistor readout, differential high side current measurements, overvoltage / overcurrent protection circuits, closed loop heater circuits etc. )
  • Selecting electronic components  

Key Responsibilities


In your capacity as a Analog Electronic Design Engineer, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:
  • Circuit functional design and simulation 
  • Schematics entry and layout of the boards
  • Designing circuits to mitigate risks of radiation effects
  • Creation of BOM, writing assembly procedure
  • Full test cycle from first power up of prototypes to serial test concept of flight hardware
  • Creation and adaptation of test scripts in Python
  • Close working together with avionics equipment engineers to define capabilities and requirements of the circuit boards

What we would love to see from you


In the role of Analog Electronic Design Engineer ideally, you will have the following:
  • Finished Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems or similar (can be substituted with several years of relevant work experience)
  • Relevant work experience in electronics design or test
  • Circuit design and layout experience (KiCAD, Altium Designer, etc)
  • Hands-on mentality working in the laboratory (Soldering, prototype debugging, etc.)
  • Python Programming knowledge
  • Knowledge of radiation effects and radiation-related failure mechanisms in electronic circuits is a plus
  • Knowledge of environmental qualification and relevant standards ECSS / NASA-HBK/ MIL-STD for parts derating, board design, and Interfaces is a plus
