Located in Durango, CO, (Headquarters) and Mount Pleasant, PA (Additive Manufacturing Center) Agile Space Industries, Inc. (AGILE) designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design, manufacture, and test new engine designs in our purpose-built propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines, and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, and Rocketdyne, AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense, Civil and Commercial programs.

About the role

Reporting to the CFO, this person will be the strategic leader overseeing organizational planning, team design and development, and culture initiatives. People Ops will be responsible for the HR aspects of recruiting, people initiatives, and people operations. The ideal candidate possesses high emotional intelligence and is an excellent communicator. We are looking for someone with focus and is excited by the opportunity to refine existing systems and programs and build a strategic People function for a high- performing, solutions-oriented organization.

JOB DETAILS: 

Strategic HR Planning:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization's goals and values.
  • Partner with leadership to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
  • Work across all departments to forecast future talent needs to support organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to develop and execute human capital plans that drive organizational success

Talent Acquisition and Retention: Oversee the recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and selecting qualified candidates.

  • Develop innovative recruitment strategies to attract top talent and build a diverse
  • Implement retention initiatives to foster employee engagement and reduce regrettable
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating programs for sourcing, recruiting, hiring, onboarding and orienting talent in partnership with hiring managers.

Employee Relations and Compliance:

  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Address employee concerns and employee relations matters in a fair and timely manner, promoting a positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Performance Management and Development:

  • Implement performance management systems alongside the Leadership Team to set clear expectations, provide feedback, and recognize achievements.
  • Facilitate employee development through bringing in external experts to provide training and drive organizational outcomes (manager training, effective communication, JEDI initiatives, etc).

Organizational Culture and Engagement:

  • Champion the organization's values and promote a culture of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion through learning and development opportunities as well as through recruiting strategies and hiring practices.
  • Partner with the Executive team in organizing community meetings and all organization wide planning retreats and events.
  • Lead and implement employee engagement initiatives, such as wellness programs, team- building activities, and recognition programs.
  • Measure and assess employee sentiment and organizational culture to identify areas for improvement.

HR Operations and Administration:

  • Lead HR functions and partner with the Payroll and Benefits Manager in optimizing HRIS management, and compliance reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of HR data and records.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize HR processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform administrative tasks.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  •  In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and other HR-related

Education and Experience

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent HR certification
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in human resources management or related field, or at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a high growth small company and a history of succeeding within it.

Remote: Remote work is acceptable for this position with a willingness to travel as needed. Travel is expected to be up to 50% at steady state and potentially more in the first few months. 

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000
